Historical Accuracy, Final Memory

Perhaps it is ignorant to assume that men and women care about legacy or posterity, or even about any other being beside themselves. Certainly there is a handful of enlightened humans who focus on their future instead of their present and who are as honest with themselves and others as they know how to be. But a handful of sand is lost in a landslide, just as a handful of good intentions is lost in a life filled with landmines of immediate gratification....

No man or woman's soul should be drawn and quartered in order to present only the fashionable side in public for a final memory as inaccurate as the history of a country written by the victor of a war.
